As you drive down the steep incline off the Majkhali road, the first of the red and green-roofed cottages come into view and you can’t stop yourself from exclaiming ‘Wow’! Sitting at different levels on the hillside with an enchanting and uninterrupted view of the mountains and valley, Vimoksha Cottages are the perfect getaway for a quiet and relaxed holiday.
The cottages are charmingly designed and can accommodate at least two families.
Room service is available–in fact there’s nothing else nearby so one has to depend on the kitchen there. The food is pretty good, but if one is traveling with children it would be a good idea to carry your kids’ favourite snacks along (as also their favourite games, etc.) as these aren’t easily available. The property is well-maintained and the staff is courteous and cooperative.
All the cottages have a good view, however, the upper floors are better which we would definitely recommend.
The only area I didn’t like is the lack of coordination and professionalism between the guys who take reservation calls and the caretaker who is basically the Man Friday and sits behind the cash register at the property. We were offered a tariff on the phone which was hiked by Rs 300 once we reached the property. Not much of an amount, but enough to start the vacation with a bad taste in your mouth.
